KENNY ADAMS SCORCHES FIELD IN ASCS SPRINT CAR RUMBLE AT DEEP SOUTH SPEEDWAY AS LARRY CIFRA TAKES LATE MODEL CHECKERS
By Deep South Speedway

LOXLEY, ALABAMA Sep 05, 2008 - Kenny Adams lit the fuse on the high-banks of Deep South Speedway to score the win in the O'Reilly Auto Parts ASCS Sprint Car main event. With a full weekend of racing action getting underway on Thursday, Adams' win at the track located just north of the Gulf Coast had the crowd revved up for the previously scheduled Sunday night lineup of bonus racing. But with Hurricane Gustav pounding the coastal region, day three of the Labor Day weekend of racing was pulled from the schedule.

Adams took control of the ASCS sprint event from the outset and charged ahead for the victory as Larry Cifra charged to his third win of the season in Deep
South Speedway's GM Performance Late Model division. The weekend of racing saw
veteran racer Lee Reynolds of Mobile rumble to the checkered flag winning the
Thursday Nite Thunder Hobby Stock event and would return to the winner's circle on Saturday night for his second win of the weekend. Reynolds, known as Red Dog throughout the south Alabama region, took the wins in a substitute role for car owner John Boyd of Pascagoula , Mississippi who's sidelined due to a recent shoulder surgery.

Kenny Adams completed a sweep of the season's American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region action at Deep South Speedway by charging to victory lane in Saturday

night's 25-lap feature event. Adams, who topped the series season opener at Deep South Speedway in February, led throughout on Saturday night to post his sixth overall ASCS feature win of the season aboard the Don Ott powered B&W Trucking/CnB Mushroom Farms sprint car. 'The Malabar Missile' took the checkered flag in front of Danny Martin, Jr., who rebounded from a lap seven spin to snare runner-up honors. Matt Tiffany claimed the third position, with Gavin Thomas and Bryn Gohn rounding out the top-five finishers. The initial attempt to start the main event was waved off after a wild tangle that wiped out the cars of Samantha Taylor, Michael Miller and Shane Morgan. There were no injuries. Martin and Miller took the wins in ASCS heat race action.

The GM Performance Late Model battle went to Cifra as the Moss Point, Mississippi racer roared to the front and steered his Warrior Race Car to victory lane. Following the Cifra Construction sponsored winning ride to the finish line were Ryan Little in second, with Ricky Haugen, Frank Wilson and Nathan Ingersoll rounding out the top-five. Sean Goodwin battled to victory in the Limited Sportsman feature, while Allan Colley pulled a win out of the bag in a heated Super Hobby main event. In the Stinger division Michael Gollott rode out of town with the winner's loot. Gustav Forces Postponement of Sunday - Aug 31st Action The mass exodus of the Gulf Coast region due to evacuation for Hurricane Gustav and the stormy weather ravaging the region forced Deep South Speedway to cancel the Sunday August 31st events. A special racing weekend is on tap for Saturday September 13th following an off weekend for Deep South Speedway on September 6th.
